Clouds are beautiful but we like to think the ones above and around Hoy are particularly lovely. Maybe you have been cloudspotting over Orkney? If so the Stromness Museum Cloud Competition wants to see your photographs.

You can submit up to 6 images, each photograph must have been taken in Orkney over the last year. Competition closes 10 May. Entries can be sent to cloudcomp(at)stromnessmuseum(dot)co(dot)uk.

We have a resident cloud spotter in Hoy who regularly takes cloud photographs. Jeff Clark and his wife Avril ran the Rackwick Weather Station reporting to the Met Office. More on their story here. Jeff still keeps the Rackwick weather stats and he knows his clouds. In fact he’ll be on cloud nine about this competition.
