We are looking forward to the evening of Friday November 29th which will see the launch of ‘Hoy Parish: a photographic census 2011 – 2013’.
The book has developed since the beginning of the Hoy Heritage project. One of the main areas of work within the Hoy Heritage project has been to collect archive images of people and places of Hoy. However it was the idea of Pearl Sinclair to create a photographic record of the ‘here and now’. These portraits of people and their houses became a popular folder at the Hoy Kirk.
We are happy to tell you that this has been made into a beautifully illustrated book. Come along on the 29th November for your chance to buy the book and meet Pearl. We will also have some other talks programmed for the evening and the usual warm welcome, refreshments, home made soup and a raffle.
Friday 29 November
Soup at 6:30pm Programme starts at 7pm
For those coming from the mainland there is a boat leaving Stromness for Moaness at 5.45pm returning at 10pm. See Orkney Ferries for further details see here.

The book will be available online shortly – details to follow. People will be able to buy the book in soft or hardback formats and deliver direct.

Sounds wonderful! wish I could come. Hopefully I’ll get to see it next summer when I’m over. all best Sue Date: Mon, 21 Oct 2013 14:34:05 +0000 To: sue_mara@hotmail.co.uk
